Check out this inspiring article: Woman gives birth to healthy daughter hours after finishing Chicago Marathon

So sorry for the two week stretches between posts. We have been entertaining out-of-town visitors and travelling to visit family and friends pretty much non-stop since the first of September. This has made the already very busy postpartum period even more jam-packed (in a good way, of course). After next weekend, we’ll be back into our regular routine, and I plan to carry on where I left off before Oliver’s birth, with two or three blog posts per week. I have so much to talk about; I just need the time in which to say it!

  1. He is a super cutie! Love the big silly grin!

I read the article about the marathon runner too and was completely taken aback by the comments (reading news comments is never really a good idea, but I thought I’d check). People made her out to be some kind of criminal for endangering her baby or something. I think they’re just jealous they weren’t in the kind of shape that would let them run a marathon when they were at their due dates. If one feels great, why not? Our bodies are keen to let us know when we’re doing too much.

  2. Thank you 🙂

I think people may be ignorant and judgemental more than they are jealous. I’ve had a few nasty comments on my YouTube videos of my pregnant CrossFit workouts, including one viewer who said – and I quote – “wow someone doesnt care about their child” and another who insisted that it’s dangerous for pregnant women to lift more than 20 lbs (because an arbitrary number works well for all women, regardless of their size and fitness level?!).

In the meantime, I think this woman is a great role model, and such an inspiration 🙂

  3. He is looking so cute and so healthy!

I’ve run one half marathon and one full marathon. Her time of 6h 25m is a perfectly reasonable time for someone who is pregnant, IMHO.

    YAY for fit moms!

  4. After looking over a handful of the blog posts on your web page, I really appreciate your way of blogging.
I book marked it to my bookmark site list and will be checking back soon.
Please check out my web site as well and let me know how you feel.
